What Happened to Line 1?

The New Way to Get the Most Out of Your Phone Lines

Remember the days when you had several different telephone lines and you could say, “Hey, you have a call on line 1 (or line 2)?” and that person could pick up line 1 (or line 2) and take the call? You also had to pay for each one of those telephone lines. Ouch! That hurts the budget.
With a VoIP system such as ours, those extra expenses for multiple lines is a thing of the past. While it may mean a slightly different way of handling those calls, we have tried to make it as simple as 1, 2, 3. Line 1 has now become 101; line 2 is now 102; line 3 is now 103, and so on.
Here’s how to do the same type of action within our phone system:

  • If you want to place a call on hold to be picked up from the same phone, then press “Hold.”
  • If you want to place a call on hold to be picked up by someone else then do this:
  1. Answer the call
  2. If you need to place the call so that it can be picked up from any other phone in your office, just press “Transfer”, “101”, “Blind Transfer”. (You can also do this with 102, 103, 104, all the way through 109, if needed.)
  3. The call will be placed on hold and can be picked up from any other phone in your office by simply pressing “101”. (Or whichever “line” the call was placed.)
