UBNT Unifi AP setup using DHCP to provision
- First, get the MAC address of the AP that needs to be setup. Either from the device or from the current dhcp server
- Create a reservation in the DHCP Server for that Device. We like to keep our AP’s standardized across client sites
- We configure Option 043 to point the public IP Address of our Unifi controller. Trick is that it has to be in hex, so we use a built in calculator like the one from windows to convert the ip address of the controller to a hex code preferenced with a 01 04 so 192.168.100.10 becomes 01 04 C0 a8 64 0a
