Moving Google Passwords and Bookmarks to Another Server

– Helptech Group does not recommend or endorse saving passwords in your browser. We do recommend saving them to a password manager like LastPass or Bitwarden

How to move Google passwords and bookmarks from one server to another:

Chrome Passwords

1.  In your old system, open chrome that has your bookmarks and passwords. Type “chrome://settings/passwords” in the address bar and press Enter.

2. Click the 3 vertical dots to show more options to the right of “Saved Passwords”.

3. Click on the option to Export passwords and after the security prompt, it will save them to a file. We recommend saving it to your H drive on the network or if handy a usb thumb drive. (keep this safe or erase it after the transfer is done)

4. To import your passwords, go to your new system and open Google Chrome and in the address bar type “chrome://flags” and search for “Password Import”. Click on the button on the right side and “Enable” it and restart Google Chrome.

5. Then, in your address bar type “chrome://settings/passwords” and press Enter.

6. Click the 3 vertical dots and it will give you the option to import your passwords from that saved file which should have copied over from the old server.

7. Your passwords should now be imported!

4. Click on the 3 vertical dots and import from the file you saved.
